The NATEK Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying and qualifying opportunities by using multiple avenues such as databases, customer relationships, agency websites or procurement lists, competitors websites, applicant resumes, resume databases, news media, etc... Responsible for investigating leads, researching and identifying competitors, and possible teaming partners .
Additional key responsibilities include:
Support the Business Development Leadership in developing account strategies towards targeted Federal Civilian Agencies (e.g. USDA, DOT, DHS/FEMA, USPTO, FCC, DOJ, etc.) that are in concert with NATEK’s IT service offerings.

Perform daily/weekly searches of Federal Opportunity databases (e.g. INPUT, E-PIPELINE, Fed Sources, GSA E-Buy, etc.) as primary database sources of identifying opportunities.

Develop, manage, maintain/update and report the pipeline of opportunities of each account on a bi-weekly basis in tight cooperation and alignment with Business Development Leadership. The pipeline report will be maintained in a custom created SharePoint database that is searchable and accessible by NATEK Senior Management.

Qualify opportunities by gathering market and customer information and providing field intelligence on each opportunity regarding critical, budgeted customer priorities (i.e. “hot buttons”).

Additional identification of leads may be through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on customers and business owners, email, and occasionally targeted and authorized networking events.

Assist the Business Development Leadership in developing and maintaining solid trust-based relationships with customer key decision makers across accounts through meetings, telephone calls and emails to assist NATEK in positioning for 2010+ business opportunities.

May on occasion accompany Business Development Leadership in visiting both existing and potential new customers across accounts to prospect for new business opportunities and to gain a clear understanding of customer businesses needs and requirements, planned procurements, etc..

Support the tracking of account specific RFI/RFP proposals and responses.

Gather, analyze, assess and provide field intelligence about NATEK competitors across accounts and assist NATEK in developing competitor ‘neutralization’ plans.

Help develop the strategy for, and attend and represent NATEK at key customer internal/external trade shows & events (as directed).

Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including telephone calls, emails, face to face meetings and follow-up activities within accounts, utilizing NATEK’s Business Development SharePoint site to maintain accurate records and maximize account potential. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

EXPERIENCE:

2-5 years of experience in professional IT services sales in the Federal Government Contracting industry.

Good understanding of the Federal Government Procurement and Proposal process.

Experience with Federal Civilian agencies is preferred.

Proven ability in supporting the achievement of sales targets.

Bachelors Degree required.
