Data Scientist, Gartner Inc., Arlington, VA. Provide ad hoc modeling and analytical insights to inform strategic and operational initiatives. Convert “top-down” business initiative requirements into actionable data analytics projects as well as conceiving and proposing “bottom-up” analytics innovations. Execute large scale and high impact data modeling projects to design, develop, validate, socialize, operationalize, and maintain data-driven analytics that provide business insights to increase operational efficiency and customer value. Conduct all phases of the analytics process including understanding business issues, proposing technical solutions, data wrangling, data cleaning, data analysis, feature engineering, model selection, model development, model validation, model operationalization, presentation of results and insights, model implementation, and model documentation. Partner with business stakeholders, IT, Project Management and lead the design and delivery of innovative analytics solutions. Mentor and provide technical guidance to associates on the team and support hiring efforts. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience. Must have three (3) years of experience with/in:
Statistical principles and their application in modeling and data analysis;
Developing and applying descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models;
Natural Language Processing and application;
Python, SQL, and Spark;
Modeling techniques: Random Forests, Clustering, Generalized Linear Models, Dimensionality Reduction, and Neural Networks;
Machine Learning Operations to implement model/algorithms into product systems; and
Churn analysis, profiling, and recommendation systems.
