Proactively monitor and maintain the integrity of our network infrastructure, including route/switch, wireless, firewalls, and other critical components.
Detect and correct problem areas promptly to minimize disruptions while optimizing network performance through continuous evaluation and improvement.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including other health system entities and affiliate partners. Engage with external telecommunication, hardware and software vendors as needed.
Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of network professionals, ensuring effective operation and alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency
Ensure team members receive necessary training to excel in their roles. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Coordinate network-related projects, assigning tasks to team members.
Work closely with the Information Services Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure successful project implementation.

The manager of Network services oversees VCU Health Systems Network infrastructure, including Cisco route/switch and wireless, palo alto firewalls, and infrastructure management. This role will help develop and implement the strategies needed to provide a solid foundation for the rest of the hospitals information technology services to ride on.
